I walked with one of our parishioners through an extremely contentious divorce that took over one year to conclude. Kim persevered, was always encouraging and worked doggedly to advance the case despite non-response on the part of the respondent and his lawyer. She structured a good settlement when there were very few assets to work with and high debt on both parties. Despite the length and amount of work on the case, she lived within her estimated quote for fees. I retained Ms. Backman to assist with my child support case last year. I had a rather unfortunate experience with my previous lawyer who I'd been working with for almost 1.5 years. Kim was able to get up to speed on my case within a week of being retained and closed my case in my favor within a month. She is extremely thorough and communicates very timely. She also argued my case quite effectively, the judge who heard the arguments commented on it twice when he was informing us of his decision.
